Many parents wonder whether online therapy can be as effective as meeting in person. I find that teens often enjoy the comfort and familiarity of being in their own space, surrounded by the things that matter to them. Being at home can help teens feel more relaxed, making it easier for us to build a genuine connection.
-
Building trust takes time, and every teen is different. My approach is warm, supportive, and pressure-free. I meet teens where they are, helping them feel comfortable enough to share at their own pace. Most teens find that having a dedicated space to talk with someone outside of their family can be a relief.
-
Parents play an important role in the therapy process. Depending on your teen's age and needs, I may meet with parents periodically to share general themes, provide support, and discuss strategies to help at home. Your teen's privacy is respected while maintaining open communication with parents when appropriate.
-
Most teens begin with weekly 50-minute sessions to build momentum and develop new skills. As progress is made, sessions may become less frequent based on your teen's goals and needs.
-
Sessions are $165 (50 minute session). Payment is due at the time of service. I accept all major credit cards and HSA/FSA cards.
